Ukraine rejects accusations of attacking Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant

ALBAWABA - A drone attack hit a Moscow-controlled Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, Russian officials accused Ukraine of carrying out the attack.

However, in response, Kyiv on Monday denied the accusations and slammed Russia for spreading "fake" information.

Lieutenant Andriy Kovalenko, the head of Ukraine's centre for countering disinformation, responded to Moscow's accusations after the nuclear power plant attack saying Russia was intensifying a "campaign of provocation and fakes."

The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant in southern Ukraine, Europe's largest such facility, has been occupied by Russian forces since the start of their February 2022 invasion.
