ALBAWABA- British maritime sources reported an incident involving a yacht pursued by unidentified small boats near the port of Aden, southern Yemen.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) stated that the yacht was followed by approximately 12 small boats for two hours, 74 nautical miles southwest of Aden.

Despite the captain's evasive maneuvers, one boat approached within a nautical mile of the vessel.

The UKMTO confirmed that the yacht and its crew were unharmed and are now en route to their next destination.

Authorities have urged all vessels transiting the area to exercise caution and report any suspicious activities.

While no group has claimed responsibility for the incident, speculation centers on the Houthis, who have previously targeted vessels in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea.

Two days earlier, Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree claimed responsibility for an attack on the Turkish vessel Anadolu S for allegedly violating their declared maritime restrictions by heading toward Israeli ports.
