ALBAWABA - British Maritime Trade Operations Authority (UKMTO) posted on X (formerly Twitter) that it lost contact with a vessel near Oman.

UKMTO said that it received a report of a vessel being boarded by "unauthorised persons" on Thursday at approximately 0330UCT.

According to the authority, the CSO heard unknown voices over the phone along with master voices.

UK Authority also said it lost contact with the ship shortly after receiving the report.

Since the start of the latest Israeli war in Gaza, which has killed over 23,000 Palestinians, the Houthi group announced standing in support of Palestinians and declared targeting any vessel that ships through the Red Sea and that is related directly or indirectly to Israel.

Many shipping companies announced changing their routes amid tension in the Red Sea including shipping giant Maersk which stated to divert all ships around Africa instead of using the Red Sea and the Suez Canal for the "foreseeable future".
