UK Withdraws its Judges From Hong Kong Court in Protest at China (AFP)

The UK Supreme Court said Wednesday it was permanently withdrawing its judges from the Hong Kong Court of Final Appeal in opposition to China's national security law.

"The judges of the Supreme Court cannot continue to sit in Hong Kong without appearing to endorse an administration which has departed from values of political freedom, and freedom of expression," Supreme Court President Robert Reed said in a statement.
