Members of the UAE national tennis team were honoured at the sports zone in Modhesh World recently. Those honoured include Fatma Al Janahi, the only woman player from UAE who also ranks first on the GCC circuit. Her elder brother Hamad has also brought accolades to the country on several occasions, representing UAE several times at the Davis Cup.
“Tennis is a sport that is not very popular in the UAE. The Dubai Sports Council has supported tennis and our team continuously and Modhesh World has provided us an opportunity to popularize this sport. I am sure this will go a long way in boosting the morale of our players,” said Obaid Abushaqar, Manager of the National Team.
