The Haj contractors in the United Arab of Emirates (UAE), who are officially licensed were pledge on Sunday by the Saudi Arabian embassy to adhere to rules and regulations designed to streamline the issuance of visas for this year's Haj pilgrimage, the Khaleej Times reported Monday.

In a statement issued in Abu Dhabi Sunday, the embassy said that contracts attested by the Saudi Ministry of Haj for accommodating Hajis in the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah should be submitted before applying for entry permits.

Transport contracts, signed by the General Automobiles Trade Union as well as the Tawafa Agencies, which deal with provision of tour service and performance of rites in the two holy cities should also be submitted, asid the Dubai-based paper.

The documents should be submitted before obtaining the visas from the embassy. The move is designed to ensure and guarantee the rights of pilgrims and to avoid any confusion or shortcoming, which may be caused by the Haj contractors to the pilgrims, the embassy said.

The official statement fixed end of the month of Shaaban as the last day for Haj contractors to conclude the contracts for housing Haj pilgrims and those associated with transport companies and the agents' office – Albawaba.com
