ALBAWABA - According to Emirates News Agency (WAM), The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) announced pledging $10M in support of the medical sector in Gaza.
The donation is being made to provide essential medical supplies to people in Gaza, especially children gravely impacted by the dire conditions pervasive now in Gaza, the MBRGI stated.
"The pledge came as part of a Letter of Intent signed between MBRGI and the World Health Organization, aimed at supporting humanitarian efforts and providing life-saving emergency healthcare response in the Gaza strip," the MBRGI statement added.
In a statement to WAM, the MBRGI said: "The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) pledged a contribution of around AED 37 million (US $10 million) in support of the healthcare sector in Gaza,".
With the latest Israeli aggression on Gaza entering its fourth month, the health system has been suffering from a severe collapse in all aspects, with almost no hospitals functioning at full capacity and a catastrophic shortage of medical supplies and medicine.
Al-Aqsa Flood operation against Israel
Hamas military group announced on Oct. 7 a military operation called "Al-Aqsa Flood" against Israel which is the biggest offensive in decades.
Palestinian fighters “infiltrated” Israel from the Gaza Strip captured military bases and took hostages as photos and videos went viral online showing Hamas fighters on vehicles inside Israel and others paragliding into occupation territory.
In response, Israeli armed forces announced targeting Hamas positions inside the Gaza Strip. Thousands were killed, and dozens of thousands of others were injured in the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip.
According to the latest statistics by the Ministry of Health in Gaza, the brutal Israeli strikes killed at least 24,448 Palestinians, mostly women and children, and injured 61,504 others.
According to the UN, 85% of the population of Gaza is already internally displaced amid acute shortages of food, clean water, and medicine, while 60% of the enclave’s infrastructure is damaged or destroyed.
