The UAE Minister of Health, Hamad Abdel Rahman Al Madfaa headed a delegation to attend the fifth meeting of the Arab and European development and environment center trustees meeting which will held in Cairo Sunday, the UAE daily Al Khaleej reported.

Earlier, the center trustees council elected Madfaa unanimously as a council member for three years starting October 21, 2001. The council consists of 14 members headed by prince Fahed bin Abdulla Al Saud, the Saudi deputy minister of defense and aviation.

Commenting on his election, Madfaa said on his departure, “I feel delighted because this nomination depicts the prominent position of the UAE on the environment map as a result of encouragement and sponsorship by our President Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.”

“This election also comes as part of the high international standard which the UAE achieved in environmental conservation and development,” added Madfaa -- Albawaba.com
