The UAE is set to introduce soon online tender notices and online bidding for government projects, an official from the ministry of finance was quoted as saying by the Emirati News Agency (WAM).
Jamal Nasser Rashid, assistant undersecretary for property and purchasing said the government departments will soon start inviting tenders for projects and purchases on their web sites and private sector companies could do their bidding online.
The innovative e-government initiative follows the recent launch of e-dirham cards and special electronic smart cards for leading suppliers and contractors doing government projects, said WAM.
