Israel's military adventure in West Bank town of Ramallah would never bring security and peace to Israelis and would lead Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon to nowhere, a UAE newspaper said Monday. “Shows of solidarity with the confined Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat and his steadfast people underline that the road is not paved with flowers before Israel to go anywhere and that the vigilant eye of the world is monitoring Israel's hideous crimes and one day it will be punished for that,” wrote the Arabic daily Al Ittihad.

“At the time when the US administration was colluding with Sharon, leaves of the Palestinian struggle trees have reached out to give shade to advocates of freedom and independence who came from all parts of the world to act as human shield against Sharon plot to liquidate the elected Palestinian leadership,” the paper said in its editorial. The paper warned that Arafat is still in danger but added that the shield of international solidarity and protection was gaining strength after strength. (Albawaba.com)
