Pharmacies in UAE have been banned from performing ear piercing, reported the Gulf News.
"We found that many pharmacies were offering customers the facility to pierce their ears for a price. They are not allowed to do this because they aren't qualified,” an official at the health ministry told the paper.
He added that violators will be punished by imposing fines and withdrawing their license.
The paper said that pharmacies can still sell earrings and other accessories only after they have obtained a permit from the department – Albawaba.com
