ATI Technologies Inc. (TSX: ATY, NASDAQ: ATYT) hosted one of the region’s largest gaming events in conjunction with Sapphire and Golden Hall gaming café last month
The ATI Clanmasters Local Area Network (LAN) party saw 12 of the best LAN clans in the UAE battle it out at the Golden Hall café, playing Counterstrike 1.6, a popular action game.
A-list, the National team, who represented the UAE at the World Cyber Games (WCG) in 2005, won the 1st prize of AED 3,000, while GG and RsG took home the 2nd and 3rd prizes respectively.
“To have the UAE National team compete added credence to our event and has firmly established the ATI Clanmasters LAN parties as the fiercest competition for serious gamers in the region,” said Rauf Baig, Managing Director Middle East Operations.
“A LAN party, whilst providing a fun and exciting concept for its participants, allows us to display our latest 3-D wares direct to the consumer and increase brand awareness amongst our target audience at the same time,” he added.
Often described as the most definitive form of modern entertainment, a LAN party involves several players competing against one another in a computer-simulated world in which, thanks to advanced 3-D technology, they do so in incredibly realistic surroundings.
With this win, A-list have topped ‘ATI Clanmasters’, a regional ‘top clan’ chart, which is published on a regular basis and highlights those clans that are truly on top of their game.
