An explosion in Tikrit, the ancestral home of ousted leader Saddam Hussein, on Sunday morning injured two US soldiers, according to military officials.
One of the soldiers received minor injuries, the other was evacuated by a medical helicopter, the officials said, cited by CNN.
The blast is believed to have been caused by an improvised explosive device.
Meanwhile, the US military said Sunday a US soldier had died of apparent "heat stress" while riding in a convoy north of Ad Diwaniyah on Saturday.
In addition, according to US Central Command, another US soldier had died in his sleep at a base camp in the town of Kirkush on Friday. An investigation into the death is underway. (Albawaba.com)
