Two inspectors for the United Nations nuclear monitoring agency arrived Tuesday in Beijing after being expelled from North Korea. Their departure means the outside world has no way to monitor directly work at the Yongbyon nuclear complex. South Korea said satellites would now have to be used to monitor the site.
Pyongyang ordered the International Atomic Energy Agency inspectors to leave North Korea Friday.
In Moscow, Pyongyang's ambassador said his country cannot honour a key Non-Proliferation pact because of nuclear threats by the United States.
"North Korea cannot currently fulfill its obligations to the Non-Proliferation Treaty and it is the fault of the United States," Pak Ui Chun was quoted by Interfax. (Albawaba.com)
