Two people were killed and 13 injured in two car bombings, one of them a suicide attack, in the Iraqi city of Samarra, police and hospital officials said on Thursday. A first car bomb exploded as a joint US-Iraqi military patrol was passing.
The second attack a short time later in the west of the city was on a police station but claimed no victims except the suicide bomber, police said.
Meanwhile, Iraqi troops discovered in Fallujah a laboratory with manuals on how to manufacture explosives and toxins, including anthrax, Iraq's national security adviser said Thursday.
According to The AP, Qassem Dawoud said the lab was found in the southwestern district of the city.
Dawoud showed pictures of a shelf containing what he said were various chemicals.
