Iraqi resistance fighters clashed with U.S. forces near the city of Baqouba northeast of Baghdad on Friday for the second time in as many days, U.S. military officials said.
A U.S. Army 1st Infantry patrol came under fire at about 7:45 a.m. in the town of Buhriz, near Baqouba, some 55 kilometers north of Baghdad. Troops returned fire, killing two of the Iraqis, a military official said, according to The AP.
On Thursday, another 1st Infantry patrol came under attack in the same region. There were no U.S. casualties resulting from either attack.
