Two headless bodies have been found in a village in Egypt's Sinai region, the AFP news agency has reported.
The bodies of two men were discovered near the northern town of Sheikh Zuweid. The men are thought to have been civilians in their 30s, according to police.
It isn't yet known who killed the men, although the deaths are the latest of a spate of beheadings thought to be carried out by Islamic extremists.
Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, an Egyptian jihadist organisation based in the Sinai, has previously claimed responsibility for several beheadings of men it says were working for the Egyptian army or spying for Israel.
The jihadist group swore allegiance to Daesh in Iraq and Syria last year and has regularly released videos of executions.
Egyptian security forces have tightened up security in the region because of the large number of killings and attacks.
