Armed men have killed two civilian guards in a town near the Algerian capital of Algiers, press reports said Wednesday.
The men burst into a restaurant in the town of Baghlia, about 50 kilometers east of Algiers, on Monday evening and shot dead one of the victims, before dragging the other one outside and slitting his throat, the newspapers reported.
The reports added that the assailants belonged to the hardline Islamic militant Salafist Group for Preaching and Combat (GSPC), one of two armed groups still active in Algeria’s decade-long civil war. (Albawaba.com)
