Fujairah, United Arab Emirates: Investigators are sifting through the rubble of a burnt-out villa in Murbah to determine the cause of a fire in which three-year-old twins died on Monday afternoon.
The Emirati twin boys were 3-years-old and died from smoke inhalation at around 12:20 p.m., Col. Ali Al Tunaiji, director-general of Fujairah Civil Defence, told Gulf News.
The fire broke out on the ground floor of the two-storey villa. Firefighters were able to rescue the rest of the family, Col. Al Tunaiji said. The twins were asleep upstairs, he added.
A civil defence team took the twins to hospital where it was confirmed they died due to smoke inhalation.
Funeral prayers were held for the boys after Asr prayers and they were buried in Ghadfa cemetery. No further details were provided.
