Turkish military sources announced Tuesday that a soldier was killed in a PKK rocket attack from the Silvan Dam in Diyarbakir province, Arabic news site 24.ae reported.

A rocket propelled grenade launched by PKK militants resulted in one fatality and one injury.

Turkey's state-owned Anadolu Agency reported: “Terrorists with RPGs targeted soldiers tasked with the protection of the Silvan Dam which is under construction, leading to the death of a soldier and the injury of another.”

After the attack, the Turkish army and security forces have begun searching the area to apprehend those involved.
