Turkish Prime Minister, Recip Tayyep Erdogan, stressed that the idea of establishing a federation on ethnic basis in Iraq contradicts the principle of maintaining the country’s territorial integrity and does not help efforts to restore stability there.
Erdogan, in an interview published Sunday by the Egyptian Al-Ahram daily, said such federation contradicts Iraq’s demographic and religious facts.
He called for concerted efforts by the global community, particularly the Arab countries, to boost Iraq’s unity.
