ALBAWABA- The Turkish Parliament has agreed to begin reviewing a draft resolution that proposes withdrawing citizenship from Jewish Turks who serve in the Israeli occupation army.

The draft resolution also includes provisions for confiscating their financial assets and sentencing them to life imprisonment.

Last May, Turkey has suspended all trade with Israel, citing the "worsening humanitarian tragedy" in Gaza. The Turkish trade ministry announced that the measures would remain in place until Israel allowed an "uninterrupted and sufficient flow" of aid into Gaza.

Trade between the two countries amounted to nearly $7 billion (£5.6 billion) last year. In response, Israel's foreign minister, Israel Katz, accused Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of acting like a "dictator."

Katz stated on X that Erdogan was "disregarding the interests of the Turkish people and businessmen and ignoring international trade agreements."
