Turkey's population is expected to reach 90.4 million in the year 2023, the 100th anniversary of the republic's foundation, according to state statistics institute (DIE) projections cited by a Turkish paper on Tuesday.
Institute projections suggested that Turkey's population stood at 69.7 million in mid-2002, according to the Turkish Daily News.
The country's population will reach 70.8 million by mid-2003, 73.1 million by mid-2005, 78.4 by mid-2010 and 87.8 by mid-2020, the DIE stated. (Albawaba.com)
