Tunisian President Receives Message form Sultan Qaboos on Bilateral Relations

Tunisian President Zine El Abideen bin Ali received Tuesday a message from Sultan Qaboos of Oman which dealt with the “existing cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways of boosting the good bilateral relations in various fields,” reported the official Omani news agency (ONA).  

The message was delivered by Oman’s secretary-general of the foreign ministry, Sayyid Haitham bin Tariq Al Said. 

Al Said also met with Tunisian Foreign Minister Al Habib bin Yahya for talks on bilateral and regional issues. 

The talks reviewed the excellent existing relations between the two countries. It focused on the possibilities for future cooperation between the two countries particularly in the promising sectors, such as, tourism and fisheries, ONA said.  

The talks also touched on the current situation in the Arab region particularly, in Palestine and Iraq.  

The two sides expressed their full solidarity with the Palestinian people in their ordeal, the agency added.  

At the end of the talks, the two sides signed a memorandum of understanding to set up a committee for political consultations. The committee will convene annually in the capitals of both countries in rotation, ONA said – Albawaba.com
