Tunisian-Italian cooperation in the field of energy

At the time of a meeting that took place from 12 to 13 September, the technical Committee formed of Tunisian and Italian parties agreed to finalize the project of a power station in El Haouria. During the meeting, the committee also decided to launch a project to install a powerline cable connecting Tunisia and Italy (Sicily). La Presse reports that these two projects are envisaged to be completed by 2006. The meeting of the Tunisian-Italian Committee lies within the scope of an energy cooperation agreement signed in Rome in June 2003.
