The investigating judge at the anti-terror judicial centre in charge of the case of Tunisians targeted by the US strike in Sabratha, Libya, has sent a letter rogatory to the Libyan judicial authorities to conduct investigation.
In a statement to TAP, Kamel Barbouch, spokesperson for the Court of First Instance in Tunis noted that the letter rogatory was sent this week under an agreement signed by the Tunisian and Libyan sides.
Generally, investigating judges sent letters rogatory to the directorate general of criminal affairs under the Justice Ministry which refers them to the Libyan side, he said.
The investigating judge in charge of the case also sent a letter to the directorate general of criminal affairs in which it affirms its readiness to travel to Libya to conduct needed investigation.
The sending of a letter rogatory or the travel of the investigating judge to Libya aims to take samples from the bodies of persons killed in the strike to conduct needed analyses to determine their identity.
The judge will also interrogate the wounded to know about their plans.
A US strike had targeted Daesh in Sabratha, last February 19, leaving many Tunisians dead and wounding others.
