ALBAWABA -  U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Saturday that US naval forces are heading in the direction of Iran.

"We do have very big, powerful ships heading in that direction as you know, but I hope they negotiate something that's acceptable," Trump said, adding that the Iranians are “seriously talking to us."

Trump also revealed that Tehran was talking seriously with Washington, and he hoped to reach an agreement between the two countries to avoid escalation.

On the other hand, Israeli Army Radio reported, quoting the Chief of Staff, who said, "We assess that an American attack against Iran could be carried out within two weeks to two months."

It is worth noting that the Qatari Foreign Minister met with Iran's security chief, Ali Larijan,i in Tehran to discuss de-escalation in the region.

"The Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar’s support for all efforts aimed at reducing tensions and achieving peaceful solutions that enhance security and stability in the region," according to a statement by Qatar's Foreign Ministry.

"He also stressed the need for concerted efforts to spare the peoples of the region the consequences of escalation and to continue coordination with brotherly and friendly countries to address differences through diplomatic means," the statement reads.
