ALBAWABA- President-elect Donald Trump is set to sign a series of executive orders shortly after his inauguration as the 47th president of the United States.
According to officials in the new administration, these orders will address key campaign promises, including declaring national emergencies on the U.S. border and in the energy sector.
Trump plans to deploy additional troops to the border, end the right to asylum, and close borders to illegal immigrants. Furthermore, members of criminal gangs will be classified as terrorists under the new policies.
CNN, citing sources, reported that Trump will sign 10 executive orders related to immigration, underscoring the administration’s hardline stance on the issue.
Trump began his day with a prayer service at St. John’s Episcopal Church, accompanied by First Lady Melania Trump and their son, Barron.
Following the service, Trump headed to the White House for a customary tea reception with outgoing President Joe Biden before proceeding to the Capitol for the swearing-in ceremony.
At noon, Chief Justice John Roberts will administer the oath of office to Trump, officially making him the 47th president. Senator J.D. Vance will also take his oath earlier in the ceremony.
The day’s events include a review of the troops and an indoor parade at Capital One Arena. Tonight, Trump will attend three inaugural balls, where he is expected to deliver speeches to his supporters and dignitaries.
