ALBAWABA- In their second meeting in just two months, U.S. President Donald Trump received Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday, underscoring deepening coordination between the two leaders amid heightened tensions in the Middle East.

According to Israel's Channel 13, citing a senior Israeli source, Trump is expected to announce a reduction in tariffs on Israeli imports following his meeting with Netanyahu.

Ahead of their talks, Trump told reporters that the agenda would cover “the obvious things”—a veiled reference to Iran, the war in Gaza, and broader regional dynamics. He added that more detailed discussions would follow behind closed doors.

Axios, quoting informed Israeli officials, reported that Netanyahu plans to present his vision of what a "good deal" with Iran should look like—one that mirrors the complete dismantling of Libya’s nuclear program.

Netanyahu is pushing for a similar model to ensure that Iran’s nuclear capabilities are fully eliminated.

In preparation for the meeting, President Trump reportedly held phone calls with French President Emmanuel Macron, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, and King Abdullah II of Jordan.

The three leaders had just convened in Cairo to explore a potential Gaza ceasefire and renewed momentum toward a two-state solution.

Although a formal joint press conference was originally scheduled, the White House announced its cancellation. Instead, Trump and Netanyahu responded to questions from a limited group of reporters inside the Oval Office.

Netanyahu’s previous visit on February 5, 2025, shortly after Trump’s reelection, marked him as the first foreign leader to meet the new U.S. administration.

That meeting stirred global criticism following Trump's controversial proposal to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to pave the way for business projects—an idea widely condemned for violating both historical rights and international human rights norms.
