ALBAWABA- U.S. President Donald Trump has reignited controversy by publicly accusing Barack Obama of "treason" for allegedly initiating the 2016 Russia interference investigation.
Speaking from the Oval Office, Trump claimed Obama and top officials, including Joe Biden, Hillary Clinton, James Comey, and John Brennan, conspired to rig the election and undermine his presidency.
“It’s criminal at the highest level,” Trump said, calling Obama the "ringleader" of what he described as a coordinated effort to steal the election.
He cited recently released documents by former Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard as evidence.
Adding fuel to the fire, Trump posted an AI-generated video on his Truth Social platform showing a fictional arrest of Obama.
The manipulated clip features Obama being handcuffed in the Oval Office as Trump looks on, blending real footage with digital alterations.
The video ends with Obama saying, “no one is above the law”, a phrase Trump turned against him.
The allegations have stirred fierce backlash, especially given their timing amid renewed scrutiny of Trump’s own legal troubles and handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files.
