Tribesmen and Houthi fighters clashed in various locations across Yemen late Monday and early Tuesday, resulting in at least 30 deaths, reports AFP.

At least nine tribesmen and 15 Houthi soldiers were killed in Yemen's central Baida province late Monday night.

Sources told AFP the tribesmen booby-trapped two homes used as military bases by the Houthi militants.

Another six tribesmen and an unknown number of Houthi fighters were also killed in Marib, east of the capital city of Sana'a.

According to AFP, the Houthi fighters are allied with former president Ali Abdullah Saleh, who ruled Yemen for three decades.
