An intensive information technology training program in Morocco run by the Association of IT Professionals (APEBI) and the Professional Training Agency (OFPPT) aims to graduate 1,600 additional technicians per year. According to Upline Securities, the current annual graduation of 800 technicians has proved inadequate to meet rapidly growing local demand and a pronounced brain-drain.
A budget of Dh600 million has been allocated to retraining as IT technicians of 3,000 unemployed tertiary graduates per year until 2005, said Upline.
