The traders and importers indicated the importance of making more effort to better understand “Daman’s” instructions and simplify its procedures as much as possible, during a number of interviews Bureau Veritas/ Jordan conducted with these traders.
Maher Jazieh, Manager of “Toys’ Jungle”, member of the “Compliant Trader Scheme”, stated that “Many of traders and importers do their best to comply with Daman standards and conditions, but at the same time, we call on officials to act against any illegal commercial activity that might be done specially by those who import toys without having a “Toys Importing License”.
Regarding the “Compliant Trader Scheme”, Jamal Basbous, Marketing and Sales Manager of Golden Mark Company (Motorola agent in the Kingdom) said “We have not encountered any kind of conflict or inconvenience since our inclusion in the Compliant Trader Scheme which presents many benefits to the compliant traders under Daman program”, he went on emphasizing the well organized and professional managerial practices by which Bureau Veritas execute the “Daman” program, adding “We strongly advise importers and traders to apply to join the Scheme and gain its multiple benefits”.
In response to comments, Julie Chemblette, General Manager of Bureau Veritas (BIVAC) Jordan assured traders and importers that the company considers the process of communication with traders and importers to be highly important in the overall operation of the “Daman” program, and that doors of dialog are permanently open for new ideas and any opinions, and to provide clear understanding of the “Daman” program.
(BIVAC) Jordan has honored members of the Compliant Trader Scheme this month for their continuous efforts to comply with the Jordanian safety and quality standards, as it hopes that the number of compliant traders will significantly increase to benefit from the Scheme which strongly contributes in making testing and inspection procedures easier and quicker.
