Tourists continue to visit Petra despite Friday terror attack

The terrorist attack, which took place in Aqaba on Friday did not stop groups of Arab and foreign tourists from flocking to the ancient city of Petra. Director of Petra Tourism, Malek Amarat, said Sunday that the tourism activity in Petra is "normal" and that no tourist reservations were cancelled. According to <i>Petra</i>, some 2,600 tourists visited Petra over the weekend, whereas the number of Petra's visitors until mid Sunday reached 500 tourists.
