In Jordan, five people were killed as violent storms and rough weather hit the region.

All the deaths took place on Friday and were the result of road accidents that happened in various parts of Jordan due to the bad weather as temperatures fell, police sources said Saturday.

One of the victims, a woman, died when her bus overturned in thick fog near Jerash, northeast of the capital Amman, the police sources added.

A total of 25 people were also injured in 173 road accidents on Friday, they said.

Meanwhile, in the south and east of Jordan, police and civil defense units rescued over 25 people, including six French tourists, from sand-storms, Petra news agency reported. (Albawaba.com)
