Thunderhead, recognized innovators in customer engagement, today announced the appointment of Nick Smith as vice president of operations in the Asia Pacific region.

Nick Smith will be responsible for driving Thunderhead's expansion and growth in the Australian and Asian marketplace. He brings 15 years of sales and senior leadership experience to the role and will report to Thunderhead managing director, Phil Walker.

"Our innovative software helps organizations deliver genuinely personalized, multi-channel communications. The result? Greater loyalty and profitability, and increased operational efficiencies," said Glen Manchester, CEO at Thunderhead. "Nick's appointment is another step in our global expansion plan and further evidence of our commitment to change customer engagement for the better."

Most recently Nick led the global software-as-a-service collaboration vendor Citrix Online in ANZ. Prior to that he held a senior leadership role at Gartner. Nick has three degrees, including an MBA from Melbourne University, and spent 12 years as an International athlete.

"It is rare to find an opportunity to lead a transformational technology organization that is re-shaping the way organizations think about customer communications," said Nick Smith. "As every commercial or government organization seeks to better listen, predict and respond to their customer or citizen needs, Thunderhead is delivering personalized relevant, multi-channel communications. These are driving demonstrable business and brand benefits."

Nick will be based in Sydney with a remit to build on six years of local success. He is tasked with delivering exceptional customer service and aggressive regional growth.

Manchester added, "We have high expectations of Nick's ability to spread the Thunderhead message and help us achieve our ambitious targets for the APAC market."
