Visitors to Hong Kong in April 2006 will have an opportunity to attend three of the largest exhibitions showcasing the best in electronics, houseware and gifts. The three premier international trade fairs - Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Spring Edition), Hong Kong Houseware Fair and Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair - are set to take center stage at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) from in the month of April.
The spacious and state-of-the-art Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre is  ideally located in the heart of the city, surrounded by hotels, shops and restaurants, and is just a ten minutes free shuttle bus ride from the nearest Airport Express station. The ease of access and convenience of travel to the venue serves to promote further activity at the exhibitions by encouraging more visitors to attend.
Benjamin Chau, Assistant Executive Director of Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), organiser of the three shows, said, “Hong Kong is powering ahead as Asia's trade fair capital with an impressive line-up of trade exhibitions. The large number of shows develops a valuable window of opportunity for buyers and sellers to build new business ties and strengthen existing ones, discovering new products and sealing business deals in the process.”
“With hundreds of thousands of products showcased, coupled with value-added programmes such as seminars and countless opportunities for networking and information gathering, the shows promise to be richly rewarding for all concerned. The trade shows have historically targeted a diverse international audience, including the Middle East region, a major market for Hong Kong products,” he added. “In the last editions of the 3 events, there were 612, 566 and 804 Middle East buyers recorded respectively at the electronics, houseware and gifts fairs. With Middle Eastern demand soaring, sourcing from Hong Kong is a very viable option.”
HKTDC is recognised as one of the most successful organisers of trade fairs in the world, with 30 plus years of experience in the field. Seven of its trade events, including the Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition), Hong Kong Toys and Games Fair, Hong Kong Gifts and Premium Fair, are the biggest in Asia and among the largest of their kind in the world.
The exhibition line-up kicks off with the Spring Edition of the renowned Hong Kong Electronics Fair, to be held from April 14-17, 2006. The Spring show has quickly caught up with the scale and scope of its long-established Autumn counterpart, and is set to drive further growth in the electronics industry.
The Hong Kong Electronics Fair’s Spring Edition attracted over 2,400 exhibitors in 2005, following its debut in 2004. Aside from a wide spectrum of electronics products, the Fair also incorporates an ICT pavilion offering a broad range of information and communications technologies and solutions. The ICT pavilion constitutes an essential toolbox for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) to source technology that helps maintain their competitive advantages and upgrade existing IT infrastructure to power new growth. Hong Kong Houseware Fair, to be held from April 21 – 24, 2006, has established itself as the industry’s trade platform of choice for 20 years, and is currently the largest show of its kind in Asia. The Houseware show has witnessed progressive growth, and featured in excess of 2,100 exhibitors from 37 countries in 2005. Further information may be found at http://hkhousewarefair.com.
