An Israeli soldier was moderately injured and two were lightly wounded when a bomb was hurled at their military Jeep on Wednesday morning in the West Bank city of Nablus. The wounded soldiers were taken to an Israeli hospital.
During the operation, the troops uncovered a large explosives factory in the Balata refugee camp near Nablus, Haaretz reported.
Also Wednesday morning, a bomb was thrown at occupation troops just south of Jenin. They soldiers returned fire in the direction it was thrown. A total of eight Palestinians were nabbed overnight in the West Bank.
Meanwhile, Israeli ministers were debating on Wednesday action against the Gaza Strip to force Palestinian gunners to stop rocket fire as public pressure for retaliation grew after a rocket nearly hit a day care center.
Several ministers said they favored cutting off electricity, water or fuel supplies to the Gaza Strip. Others were pressing for broad or pinpointed military operations to hunt the Palestinian firing squad.
Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, Defense Minister Ehud Barak and Vice Premier Haim Ramon all support pinpointed cessations of electricity, water or fuel supplies to Gaza. At least two other ministers were pressing for military action in the territory, the AP reported.
"The answer has to be military ... I think we need to decide on a few operations against the rocket launchers," Housing Minister Meir Sheetrit told Israel Radio Wednesday. "I don't rule out an incursion ... and taking the area for two or three weeks."
Sheetrit said he opposed cutting off the supply of water, electricity or fuel since he believed that such action would violate international law.
