(MEBG) – Three European firms are submitting final bids for the two main elements of the Olefins 9 project on 29 July and in mid-August, report MEED. Bidders have meanwhile received documents for the Olefins 10 facility, although an end of August closing date is expected to be extended. Both projects are sited in the Bandar Assaluyeh special zone.
The three firms involved in the Olefins 9 facility have received documents from NPC for the Olefins 10 project, following a tender issue on June 25.
One bidder speculated that the fluid catalytic cracking (FCC) technology owned by the US' Stone & Webster might become a factor in the bidding for Olefins 10.
Meanwhile, NPC says its tender documents issued in June for the fourth methanol plant offer two capacity options, one for 1 million tons a year (t/y) and the other for 1.5 million t/y.
