As part of BurJuman’s largest ever ‘Safe and Sound’ breast cancer awareness campaign, the mall has teamed up with Kodak to launch an innovative photography competition.
From now until 31 October, visitors to the mall are being invited to ‘Think Pink’ and click photographs with the universal color for breast cancer awareness as the main theme. These photographs must be then printed on Kodak photographic paper and submitted to the marketing department at BurJuman (located in the management office) or at any of the information counters in the mall.
The photographs will then be judged by well-known local photographers and art aficionados and three lucky winners will receive a camera courtesy of Kodak. The 3rd prize is a Kodak easy share CX 7330 (3.1MP 3xzoom), the 2nd prize is a Kodak easy share Z700 (4MP 5xzoom) and the winner gets a Kodak easy share C300 with a docking printer (3.2MP 5xzoom).
“The ‘Think Pink’ competition was developed by BurJuman in partnership with Kodak to celebrate Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It encourages the public, especially those who have been touched by cancer, to represent hope and survivorship through the medium of photography,” said Sabina Khandwani, head of research and marketing, BurJuman.
Literature on breast cancer detection, diagnosis and treatment will also be available at all major Kodak stores throughout the month of October.
Arguably the most comprehensive and extensive awareness campaign of its kind in the Middle East, this year’s Safe and Sound campaign has seen a broader range of events between September and November to commemorate breast cancer awareness month including the 2nd ‘Pink Walkathon’, a 3.5-kilometer walk for charity, which took place on 30 September, and a series of medical lectures in association with Welcare Hospital.
