Ten new cases of Rift Valley Fever (RVF) were reported over the past 24 hours, the ministry of health said in Riyadh Sunday.
"Ten new cases of RVF were recorded ... bringing to 433 the number of people affected by the sickness, of whom 210 have left hospital after being cured," the ministry said in a statement, without reported any new fatalities.
It is the second successive days that the ministry has not reported any deaths. The last death toll released Friday reported 84 dead.
In Yemen, 71 people have since the virus appeared in early September.
The World Health Organization has launched an appeal for 975,000 dollars to help boost international efforts to counter the disease in Yemen.
The symptoms of Rift Valley Fever include hemorrhage fever, encephalitis and eye problems, although human deaths are supposed to be rare, according to experts.
It is usually contracted from mosquitoes, or by contact with the blood, bodily fluids or organs of infected animals – RIYADH (AFP)
