Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid Reza Asefi Wednesday rejected any change in Tehran's stance on
Palestine and reiterated its call for a 'one-state' solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. "Iran believes in a one-state solution in the Palestinian land and
does not recognize the Zionist Israeli regime," he told IRNA.
On Tuesday, Asefi said that Iran favors the establishment of a Palestinian state on all Palestinian territories. According to him, Tehran believes that there is no other way to ensure the Palestinian interest as well as restoration of peace in the region.
On Iran's reaction to the possibility that the Palestinians may opt for establishing a Palestinian state next to Israel, he said "if the Palestinians should chose a solution other than the one preferred by Tehran, then Iran will not try to prevent it," Asefi told IRNA. (Albawaba.com)
