Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesman Hamid-Reza Asefi said on Wednesday that the recent raid by the French police against the Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) was laudable considering the "terrorist and dangerous" nature of this group.

French anti-terrorist police on Tuesday launched a major crackdown on the MKO on the outskirts of Paris and arrested 165 people, including one of the organization's leaders, Maryam Rajavi.

Asefi told IRNA that a comprehensive judicial investigation into the activities of the MKO will disclose the atrocities that the group perpetrated against the Iranian people over the past years.

"The Islamic Republic is determined to seriously continue its cooperation in fighting terrorism," he added.

Meanwhile, hundreds of Iranians demanding more freedom have demonstrated for the eighth consecutive night. Scores of protesters have been arrested and some injured in rallies in seven cities. (Albawaba.com)
