The Italian company, leader in the fitness, wellness and athletic preparation sector, has been appointed as Fitness Equipment Exclusive Official Supplier to the Beijing Olympic Games which will be held in August 2008. In Beijing Technogym will set up 10 training facilities including the main fitness centre inside the Olympic Village with around 1000 cardio and strength equipment. A fully-equipped wellness centre will be also available for BOCOG staff and another centre for the 20,000 journalists attending the event. Pure Strength, the new plate loaded strength line developed specifically for Beijing 2008 Olympic Games – made of 10 machines – to offer the athletes a free weight movement feeling, ease of use and safety at the same time.
Kinesis, a training platform offering over 250 exercises with different difficulty levels and thanks to the international Fullgravity® patent it allows to reproduce specific movement of different sport disciplines (swimming, tennis, jump, etc) thanks to a free cable system.
FLEXability, the new Technogym concept for an easy and safe approach to stretching to allow athletes to complete their session with some flexibility training.
A pretty big free weights area will be available to guarantee to the athletes the possibility to train according to their personal needs and their coaches indications. The athletic trainers will also have the possibility to manage athletes’ preparation with Wellness System key, a portable memory stick allowing to save a training program, monitor the results and automatically activate Technogym equipment.
Also the 20.000 Main Press Center accredited journalists will be able to experience the Olympic spirit and to keep in shape in the Wellness Center Technogym has installed just next to the workstation area. Technogym professional personal trainers will assist journalist on their training session on the same equipment the athletes are using at the village.
Alongside with the Olympic Village gym, designed in order to accommodate the needs of all the athletes, Technogym will also install 18 Center in all the main competition venues specifically designed for the different disciplines:
- At the Olympic Stadium, the real Temple of the games, Technogym will install a gym dedicated to athletics for a pre-race warm up or a stretching session.
- At the Tennis Complex, Excite TOP is protagonist. Excite Top is the unique cardiovascular equipment to train upper body and it features the innovative WARM UP function.
- At Water Cube, the aquatic sports venue, a full line of cardiovascular products offer the athletes the possibility to train resistance and speed.
