Tech Access – the regional channel development provider of Sun Microsystems’ technology – has aggressive plans to tackle the Middle East’s growing enterprise and mid-market sectors, and believes that Sun Microsystems’ technology has an edge over competitors in this space, according to regional executives with the Dubai Internet City-headquartered company.

Competition in the enterprise and mid-market space is becoming quite fierce among international IT suppliers, with more companies chasing an ever-growing Middle East communications-reliant market, in which reliability and scalability have been defined as the two most important considerations among commercial buyers.

“The Middle East market for IT suppliers is growing steadily year-on-year, which means that clients want to invest in technology that will grow with their needs, and that’s where Tech Access and Sun Microsystems have a decided advantage over competitors,” said Kamran Hussain, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Tech Access.

“Sun’s latest technologies, such as its Galaxy range of servers, offer enterprise and mid-market customers in the region a powerful computing option that is smaller, less expensive, and more powerful than competing products in the same class,” he added.

Tech Access has already become known in the channel for its iForce proof-of-concept centre at its Dubai Internet City office.  The facility, now in its fifth year, enables Tech Access channel partners to test technologies live with their customers, before customers make any buying decisions.

“The Tech Access iForce centre has been a great help to our channel in demonstrating the power of Sun Microsystems technology, often alongside Sun alliance partner technologies.  iForce has greatly enhanced the Sun relationship with Tech Access over the last few years, and we expect it do so over the coming years,” added Hussain.

The two companies recently conducted an intensive, off-site “Partner Sales Corner” activity in which senior Sun Microsystems’s regional management, Tech Access, and 129 regional customers discussed Sun’s strategic direction and competitive advantage in various vertical sectors.
