Conference attracts around 300 participants comprising healthcare managers, laboratory physicians, scientists, nurses and students
Tawam Hospital, in affiliation with Johns Hopkins Medicine, has announced that it hosted its first laboratory conference titled ‘Excellence in Laboratory Medicine’ at the Intercontinental Hotel, Al Ain from November 17-18, 2007. This specialised conference attracted an audience of around 300 participants comprising healthcare managers, laboratory physicians, scientists, technologists, clinicians, nurses, medical students, and individuals interested in quality and risk management.
A host of internationally renowned keynote speakers from the USA, Holland and the UAE addressed the gathering and enlightened the audience about latest developments in the field of laboratory medicine.
Michael Heindel, CEO, Tawam Hospital, said, “We are proud to organise such an important conference that helped participants stay abreast of newest advances in laboratory medicine, a discipline which is slowly but surely getting into the mainstream of medicine. The two-day conference presented internationally accepted standards in laboratory medicine and focused on requirements for the implementation of effective laboratory accreditation.

Matarelli, Chief Clinical Officer of Tawam Hospital, among others.
