The National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority (Tanmia), has released an informative guide for UAE National jobseekers that will assist them in finding the most suitable jobs and ensure high levels of performance at the workplace. The launch of the guide is expected to significantly enhance the employment opportunities for UAE Nationals.
The comprehensive 92-page guide presents a detailed explanation on various aspects of job search and employment, such as creating impressive resumes, types of resumes, writing covering letters, targeting the right job opportunities, filling application forms, facing interviews, acquainting jobseekers with work ethics, importance of on-the-job training and much more. The guide also emphasizes on the importance of career planning and highlights various job search tools and the most effective ways of using them.
“The launch of this information-packed guide reflects Tanmia’s commitment to maximise employment opportunities for UAE National jobseekers in a competitive job market. The guide will prove extremely useful to jobseekers as it serves as a ready reference for all their job search-related queries. Candidates can be better prepared when applying for jobs and while attending interviews, as the guide offers details on preparing winning resumes and highlights key points that prospective employers look for during an interview,” said Feddah Lootah, Acting Director General, Tanmia.

The book also features a list of companies with available job opportunities for UAE Nationals. It gives a profile of the company, the procedure for application, the minimum qualification and experience required and salary offered for the particular position.

About Tanmia
Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development & Employment Authority in the UAE, was established by a Presidential decree in November 1999, to address the imbalance in the labour market, due to excessive dependence on expatriate workforce. Tanmia is engaged in a coordinating role, between national job seekers and employers in the private and government sectors, to facilitate increased entry of nationals in the labour market. The responsibilities that rest with the Authority are: to set up the overall policy of the Authority and supervise its implementation, conduct sustained operational and administrative labour market studies and analysis, provide career counseling and guidance to the national work force, follow-up and evaluate employment of nationals in public and private sectors, support small investment enterprises through the establishment of self-employment projects for national human resources and develop programmes for training and qualifying nationals seeking employment, in conformity with the labour market needs.
