Under the directions of H.E. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Kaabi, Minister of Labour and Social Affairs and Chairman, Board of Directors, Tanmia, the National Human Resource Development and Employment Authority, Tanmia today (September 03, 2005), announced the launch of its Public Relations Officer (PRO) training program for UAE National jobseekers, in association with Dubai Police, Dubai Naturalisation and Residency Department (DNRD) and Empost.  Tanmia will nominate 100 jobseekers registered in its database to join the training program that will be held in two batches, beginning today at the Emirates Aviation College in Dubai.

Dubai Police will prepare the course material and provide the initial theoretical training for the jobseekers. DNRD will provide training on the various systems and processes that are followed within an organisation, in addition to focusing on the role and functions of a PRO. They will also train the jobseekers to use a range of electronic systems that are frequently used by organisations for communication. On the completion of the theoretical training, the trainees will be given specialised on-the-job training by Empost. The entire cost of the PRO training program will be borne by Tanmia.

“The PRO training program is another key initiative from Tanmia, under the directions of H.E. Dr. Ali Abdullah Al Kaabi, that has been designed after anticipating future job market requirements. There is a steady increase in the number of companies in the UAE that are recruiting Nationals as their public relations officers. This training program is aimed at honing the necessary skills of the National jobseekers to augment their job prospects and to help them effectively carry out their duties as PRO’s,” said Marwan Al Sawaleh, Acting Director General and Director of the Employment and Skills Development Center, Tanmia.

“We appreciate the cooperation and efforts of DNRD, Dubai Police and Empost in ensuring the success of the PRO training program, and Tanmia will offer all the required resources in this regard. I would also like to thank Emirates Aviation College in Dubai for their cooperation in conducting the training programme at the college,” he added.

The course content for the PRO training program covers topics such as office management, communication, customer service excellence, etiquette, report writing, body language and residency and labour laws.

“We are pleased to offer our support to Tanmia in this initiative by providing on-the-job training to the job seekers. The PRO training program is a comprehensive effort that addresses all aspects of this specialised job category, and we are certain that this program will be extremely beneficial to the trainees,” said Sultan Al Midfa, General Manager, Empost.
