Taba Heights Receives Jordanian Team of Reporters

In the warmth of the budding summer and on the extravagant shores of the Red Sea, a host of Jordanian reporters representing the country's audiovisual and printed press were taken on a three-day trip to the Taba Heights Resort in Sinai. The trip came after a delightful invitation by the resort's management, chaired by the holding company Orascom Development Holding, as a tribute to Jordanian journalists for their great efforts.

The trip began on Friday May 30th with a road trip to Aqaba, where the group boarded a hovercraft to the Taba Heights International Harbor. The trip was short and delightful, less than one hour in total, during which the group enjoyed basking in the sun and listening to the gentle waves of the sea.

Receiving the group on the shores of Sinai were the higher staff of Taba Heights who warmly welcomed the esteemed representatives of the Jordanian media industry, reaffirming in their welcoming note their ongoing commitment to bridging better communication with the Arabian tourist in general and the Jordanian in particular, complimenting the laborious efforts of the Jordanian media towards promoting tourism between the two countries.

From the moment of arrival introductory and entertainment activities were commenced, prepared especially for the group by Taba Heights' team. Activities included Bedouin parties which are considered a special part of the tradition of the Sinai Peninsula, in addition to water activities like water skiing, glass boats, sea trips and diving. The group enjoyed rides on quad bikes between the deep ravines of Taba, besides visiting one of the most important Egyptian landmarks – the Saladin Castle built on the Island of the Pharaoh.

Sports fans among the group found plenty of entertainment. The group was invited to play on the most glamorous golf course that was built under international standards to be one of the first choices for conducting international tournaments. The Taba Heights golf course consists of 18 holes and was designed by award-winners in this field. The course is unique in its spaciousness and its remarkable view which overlooks four countries (Egypt, Israel, Jordan and Saudi Arabia), the mountains of the Sinai desert and the Red Sea.

The trip was concluded on June 1st, and the group expressed their pleasure at the great beauty of Taba Heights, its organization and the great level of attention given to the touristic resort by those in charge, which was regarded by many as evidence that tourism in the Arab World has acquired global standards.
