Fifteen Syrian opposition groups and militias have come forward accusing the Kurdish People's Protection Units, or YPG, of "ethnic cleansing" against Sunni Muslim Arabs and Turkomen in northern Syria, reports the Associated Press.
YPG spokesman Redur Khalil has staunchly refuted the claims, which were presented by Syrian opposition in a statement on Monday.
According to the statement, violence against Sunnis is mostly occurring the in the provinces of Hassakeh and Tal Abyad.
While Tal Abyad is a mixed village, Hassakeh is a predominately Kurdish Syrian town and a frequent target of Daesh attacks.
On June 4th, it was reported that the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), an ally of the Western-backed Free Syrian Army, was to blame, allegedly razing 10,000 homes in Arab villages near Kurdish-controlled territory.
